Better Progression: Gear, Crystals, Crafting and Gathering

This version of the game is based on patch p100. That being said, we didn’t like the changes brought with physical and magical amp so we are reverting to a Heroic Oath-like system for our gear with some twists.

General changes

  • Physical and Magical related stats (Amplification, Resistance, Resistance Ignore, Resistance Piercing) from all types of equipment have been removed.

Gear

The gear is as follows:

  • Tier 1: Verrak Gear. Aimed for the easier dungeons you will be facing, this is the first gear set you will obtain after reaching level 65, manually or via the level up scroll you will be provided with. This gear will NOT require any Item Exp whatsoever to enchant or upgrade to the next tier.

  • Tier 2: Asterria Gear. This gear set is the direct upgrade to Verrak gear and is recommended for the medium difficulty dungeons. This gear will NOT require any Item Exp whatsoever to enchant, however it will be accumulating exp until it reaches the maximum enchantment level, which will then be used towards upgrading it to the next tier. Base chance for the upgrade is 50%.

  • Tier 3: Immortalis Gear. This gear set follows after Asterria. This gear will NOT require any Item Exp whatsoever to enchant, however it will be accumulating exp until it reaches the maximum enchantment level, which will then be used towards upgrading it to the next tier. Base chance for the upgrade is 20%.

  • Tier 4: Lastly, we got Hera Gear at the Extreme level. This is the best available gear in the game. This gear will NOT require any Item Exp whatsoever to enchant.

Niveots

Alongside these changes, we touched up on the Niveot system! To upgrade your niveots, you now need to use the "fusion" function. By acquiring a base niveot which is obtainable through multiple sources in the game (vanguard shop, crafting etc.) and three niveots of the same colour (red, blue, green), type (as in the stat being buffed) and tier you will be able to upgrade them to pristine tier with a random secondary effect from the following list:

Niveot Secondary effects:

  • Critical hits replenish MP when attacking from behind.
  • Increase maximum MP.
  • Replenish MP over time.
  • Increase maximum HP.
  • Replenish HP over time.
  • Increases movement speed while in combat.

Vyrsk Secondary effects:

  • Increase Power.
  • Increase Crit Factor.

Not satisfied with the outcome of the Niveot fusion? By dismantling the Pristine niveot you will be able to obtain back the base used so you can try again until you achieve your desired effect, so your efforts won’t be wasted!

Gathering & Crafting

Gathering and Crafting have been completely overhauled. We wanted to take away some of the grind for those hard to make recipes while also making gathering more rewarding. To that end, the list of changes is as follows:

  • Added 2 new gather-ables (Onyxite Ore and Onyxite Rosemary) which are exclusive to a portion of IoD
  • Reworked Gathering EXP and added new levels to it. Max EXP is now 1000 instead of 350.
  • Gathering Achievements, now give you rewards every 200 XP
  • Added 3 new Passive skills obtainable through achievements for reaching the respective milestone:
    • Upon reaching 100 EXP in each gathering category, gathering speed is increased by 10%
    • Upon reaching 300 EXP in each gathering category, gathering speed is increased by an additional 10%
    • Upon reaching 800 EXP in each gathering category, gathering speed is increased by an additional 10%
  • Exclusive Auto Gathering Pet + Special Storage (Reward granted upon reaching 500 EXP in each gathering category) Note: Only Auto Gather pet abilities will be available in game. Partners no longer provide combat advantages.
  • Exclusive Gathering Partner (Reward granted upon reaching 1000 EXP in each gathering category) with Gathering Gift Skill that will last for 30 minutes and has no cooldown. The partner will come with Auto Gather and Special Storage
  • Gathering Gift:
    • Decrease gathering time by 6 Seconds
    • Increase Plentiful Gather Chance by 20%
    • Enemies will not aggro you unless you attack them
  • Base Gather Time increased from 15 seconds to 20 seconds.
  • Each gathering gives you 4 EXP of that type (used to be 3)
  • Plentiful Gather chances increase from 5% to 10%, Extra EXP increased from 1 to 2
  • Reworked Upgrading Costs of Speedy Gathering Tool (At Max Level: Decrease gathering time by 8 seconds)
  • Added new VIP Zone (Available once per day per character) that contains 1 of every resource node
  • Updated UI of the crafting menu.
  • All recipes have had their cost reduced.
  • Passives now have a 100% chance of proccing when crafting or gathering
  • Reaching Master on any profession should now be easier and rewards players with a Crafting Partner.
